At Fieldwork, we serve handcrafted Neapolitan and Detroit-style pizzas, fresh salads, and shareable small plates alongside our award-winning craft beers. Our San Leandro location is a hub for our local community, and we’re seeking a Kitchen Manager who can bring strong leadership, operational excellence, and creativity to the table.
What You’ll Do
-Lead daily kitchen operations and uphold Fieldwork’s standards of quality, consistency, and cleanliness.
-Manage, train, and motivate a team of line cooks and dishwashers in a positive, collaborative manner.
-Oversee food preparation and execution, ensuring all dishes meet brand standards for flavor and presentation.
-Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure cost control and product quality.
-Maintain health and safety compliance, including temperature logs, storage standards, and cleanliness protocols.
-Collaborate with the General Manager and Regional Kitchen Manager to forecast labor, schedule efficiently, and achieve financial targets.
-Participate in menu execution, recipe adherence, and kitchen innovation initiatives.
-Conduct performance reviews, hiring, and onboarding of kitchen staff as needed.
-Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and coordinate with vendors for repairs and maintenance.
-Support special events, private bookings, and brewery-wide promotions as needed.
What We’re Looking For
-3+ years of kitchen management or leadership experience (brewery or high-volume restaurant preferred).
-Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on team development.
-Proven ability to manage food and labor costs effectively.
-Hands-on approach — willing to jump on the line and lead by example.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Working knowledge of health codes, sanitation, and food safety best practices.
-Must hold a valid California Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
-Must be 21+ years old and authorized to work in the United States.
-Spanish-speaking a plus.
Why Fieldwork
-Competitive salary range: $70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience.
-Health and dental insurance (once qualified).
